Mike’s decision to run for Circuit Court Judge is rooted in his personal history. As a first-generation American whose parents risked everything for an opportunity to experience the freedoms our system of government is designed to protect, Mike was raised with a deep respect for the law and the crucial role it plays in our society. He believes that everyone has a right to have their claims heard and resolved in an economically efficient and practical manner, which will require making difficult decisions. And he has been incredibly fortunate to spend the vast majority of his career litigating in the state and federal courts of Hamilton County, where he has developed a profound appreciation and respect for our local judiciary and the invaluable role it plays in our local government. Mike hopes to bring his skills to bear as a public servant charged with protecting the integrity of the law.

In addition to his clients, Mike has dedicated himself to this community. He has been fortunate enough to be a member of and serve on several boards of civic and community organizations, including the Rotary Club of Chattanooga, the Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga, the Chambliss Center for Children, and St. Peter’s Episcopal School. He is a proud alumnus of Leadership Chattanooga and a graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association's Leadership Law program. And he has remained committed to the legal community, serving as a board member of the Federal Bar Association, a member of the Chattanooga and Tennessee Bar Associations, and a Bar Examiner appointed by the Tennessee Supreme Court. But above all else, Mike is dedicated to his family, with whom he spends every free moment he can find.

Mike is no stranger to hard work and discipline, earning a B.A. in Political Science from Fordham University, an M.S. in International Relations from New York University, and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University. He has further developed that sense of discipline over the course of his decade-long legal career, during which he has represented a variety of clients effectively, zealously, and ethically. His work ethic has culminated in recognition by his peers as a Mid-South Rising Star Attorney each of the past three years, and a selection by Best Lawyers® for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for commercial litigation. If elected, Mike will carry this sense of discipline directly to the bench in order to give every unique case the attention it deserves.
